  • 55,000 HP engine pull.

80,000 lbs. thrust. Made in USA. Runs on natural gas, makes electricity. The blue tinge is from the heat.

That's pretty cool. I'm guessing it burns cleaner than a coal plant?

Love turbines. I need to make time to learn more about them.

Cleaner than coal, but not cleaner than nuke.

I am an archaeologist specializing in construction monitoring. They dig, I watch. (And take lots of pictures.)

interesting, I can imagine the conversation:
Worker: “Stop! Stop!.. there’s a skull in the dirt, stop digging.”
                    Henry66: “Yup that’s a skull alright….human…old”
                    Worker: “How old?
                    Henry66: “ mid 1800’s for sure..”
Worker: “Should we shut down the job? Native American? Indian?”
                    Henry66: “Ah…nope…looks Caucasian.”
                    Worker: “Whew, OK keep digging!”
Relativity: Where ever you go, there you are.

My father in law built the Co-Gen plant in Moss Landing, he took me on a private tour. It was very impressive and considerably bigger than it looks from the hi-way. You can almost walk inside those turbines.

Brad> Cost is $8,000,000. 3 to 4 mil for a refurbish. They run them for 50,000 hours or 6 years between pulls.
