  • Flatbed maiden voyage

Got the day off and tooled on up to Dobbins in the new ('89) flatbed F350. I kind of like the sound of that fuel injected 460 sucking gas. Steady on 10 MPG and lots of power. I am okay with the 10MPG as it was hauling at least 5,000 lbs of free lumber. Have you ever seen a 12"x12" oak timber 12 feet long? I got three of those, two 8x8, twelve sheets of 1/2' plywood and 24 2x4x12's. That is nothing compared to what gets thrown away.

I lose sleep over the stuff they throw away. They pay to have dumpsters or scrap metal hauled away. Some of it new hardware. Like dozens of one inch all thread a foot long with a six inch long nut on it and two regular size nuts. I will get pictures.

Hoping 3 or 4 of the 12x12x12s are my next load. I may need some help with a barn raising. They are about 800 lbs per.
