  • Off topic fire fighter question

    How come when the fire dept comes out and does job sight inspections they don't wear the required vest and hard hats?

      They should be wearing them some job sites its 1000.00 reward if you catch someone on the job without one

        I think it would fall on the contractor of the job site if some thing happened because he allowed them on the site with no hard hat we have gone out to rock quarry's they don't let you walk around with out one

          I figured they didn't want to piss them off since they are hot and heavy to get this place on line.

            They are required to follow all the safety rules that the mandated at the Construction site.
            They should be wearing their own helmets, either Structural or Wildland. Safety eye and ear equipment too.

            Common Sense is not that common anymore... In all professions..

            Sad to see one of my Brothers being clueless... As a BC I would write him up... Class C safety violation in Palo Alto

                If you noticed the scissor lift, there there were two guys hanging lights right above there heads.

                  Two OSHA guys came to the power plant I worked at in Alviso a couple years ago. One reused to go get his ID he had left in the car. The security guard (101st Airborne Ret.) would not let him in until he did. One of my (hard) hats here is safety and nobody gets a free pass. "Left your hardhat at the office? Sit in the truck. I'll be back."
