  • OT. Chebby Blazer. Last Minute Question

Anyone familiar with '74 Blazers? My brother is still in the market for a family rig (mainly street), and the price people want for their EB's is a "little" out of hand. He just found this '74 blazer and we are going to look at it tomorrow morning. Anything to really look out for outside of the standard, rust, wiring, bondo, running...?? I figure for the price.......

Look for frame cracks at the steering box as these were notorious for that. If he's mainly using it for street and doesn't need the 3/4 ton running gear he could probably find a full size bronco in a lot better shape for less money.

Rust, Bondo, cracks in the frame, Rust...

How well was the 3/4 ton conversion done?

Tell him to look at suppliers of replacement parts for Che*y trucks, better judge $$ in making repairs.

New gauges may be awesome in some peoples mind, but I would be looking for more original Equipment. I bet the wiring is a nightmare for them

Go with DXL plan... Fullsize Bronco!

Just like EB's these are known for the frame cracking at the steering box. Also look at the frame around the rear leaf spring hangers and rear shocks. These are also known as weak points especially if it's been offroad.
