I have been using my '71 Bronco as a wood truck for almost 20 years and decided I will never get around to restoring it. It is time to move it to a new home.

Is there a knowledgeable someone in the Club who, even for a fee, would give me an independent opinion on a fair and reasonable asking price? It runs fine and has dents, rust and all the usual ailments but it might be a fun project for somebody. I am not interested in haggling or being low balled or severely under selling. I just want to set fair price in today's market.

I'm new to the forum but would think it best to have this discussion via PM.

    Thanks.

    Re: Appriaser

My of us are knowledgeable about Broncos, but the market is crazy right now. Maybe someone close to you will PM and offer their knowledge to give you a range.

A running, moving Bronco easily starts at $10K these days, cheaper than that usually has significant rust or is missing components.

People are always going to want to haggle, especially the C-list folks...

    And Welcome to NorCal! Doug

I think he does not want a "public Guess secession" Rick.

Granted more info and pictures would help, but that is not what he is looking for.

Once he gets a price I hope he posts it up here to give the Locals a shot... More than happy to post it on Classic Broncos for him too if he desires a 50+ state audience.

Sierra City? Nice! I am way down the hill in Dobbins when I'm home, which is rare these days.

Here is some data I have:
              VIN U15GLK32619
              092 R U152 9U C B9L

I decipher a '71 built in Mich in Oct 70 as a 302cid, 3 speed, blue, with a 3.50 LS 3300# rear axle. No code that I see for the front axle but my friend says likely a 3.54.

Ryan, I think your estimate is low.

While it is only one picture, it is a running/driving Bronco.
In today's market I can easily see $10-12K, maybe as high as $15K. I would start at $15K OBO.

I agree Doug. Pretty much anything that runs and drives will get a minimum of $10,000.

                      Re: Appriaser

I have been looking for another Bronco project to do, given the market, probably my last.

I look on CL and people want a lot of money for junk, and even more for something they pulled out of the weeds...
EBay is ridiculous, people pushing $20's and up for a tired, well used bronco.
I get asked monthly, if I would sell my 71... They don't realize what it costs today to restore one, the car shows have clouded their minds.

You can read stories on Classic about people buying Broncos without looking at them in person, and taking peoples word.
Then it shows up on the transport, and they find how many things are wrong or how much rust there really is... Then there is sticker shock on what it will cost to get it fixed.

So anyone that has a Bronco, your envied. Anyone selling a Bronco, ask top dollar, there is demand. Anyone buying, buyer beware. Take someone knowledgeable, see it in person, drive it... Because it can turn into a money pit very easily.

Completely agree, Doug, the market is hot.
I too would start it at $15K and see where that leads.

It is hard for me to suggest starting that high because I want to build another one as well - one to take in a completely different direction than my current Bronco. I feel like I have waited for the market to pop and thus swoop in and buy something cheap, but I don't see that happening. I do not want to sell mine, it would take a lot of money to get me to send it away.

                          15k?!?!?!
What the hell is mine worth?

Have i really been out of the loop and prices have gone that far up.

Thank you for the series of comments and inputs on marketing my '71.

My plan is drive it to Sacramento next weekend so it is in a more accessible location for inspection. I would like to list it on the NorCal Bronco site. Any suggestions on how best to do the listing are appreciated.

What is your reaction to not setting a listing price and stating 'Reasonable offers will be considered'?
