My C4 has a slight leak, it’s not a pan gasket. Looking for an honest East Bay, Fairfield ish shop. I’m in Walnut Creek...

Also want to install new seats, I’ve heard some horror stories and want to make sure it’s done right...

I don't have any shop suggestions, but a common leak point for the C4 (outside of the pan/dipstick) is the selector shaft, that's where the shift linkage is hooked up.
If it is leaking there, it's rebuild time as that seal requires a good amount of disassembly in order to replace it.
