A question to all fellow EB owners. TIRES... What kind? A/T or M/T ? I have decided on 35x12.5x15 but need some feed back on what brand. Was going to go with Pro-Comps M/T just for a price sake but dont want to do that if they dont work. Face it, most of our EB's see about 60% asphalt use but would still like to hit hills when we can. Any feedback would be helpful

    THANKS, POPS

BFG mt's. Good on road, good off road. I dont think pro-comps are much cheaper then BFG's. Sometimes you can get a free tire with Pro's but it still works out to the same price as the BFG's.

I think BFGs are still cheaper but they come from a France company

Just playing devil's advocate here but are you sure you want 35's with that gearing??? Or did I miss where you will be changing gears?

I have had BFG MT, BFG AT, Bridgstone Dueler MT, Pro Comp MT, Goodyear MTR, Dunlap Mud Rover, Cooper SST, and Toyo MT's. As far as tread life and on road handling I think the BFG MT are as good as any, the one down side to them in my opinion is the lack of siping. The BFG AT are absolutly the best on road snow tire I have owned, while they aren't the best in mud they work well in rocks and dry trails, tread life is average. The pro comps have good tread life but I had a lot of balancing problems and the sidewalls are quite thin. The Dunlap's are garbage all around. The Bridgstones lasted the longest, but are pretty hard rubber and have no side lugs. I am about halfway through a set of Cooper's on my work truck and so far I am happy with them, they won't have the longest tread life but I think they are about equal to the goodyears, road manners are just ok but work better than average offroad. the Toyo MT's I haven't had very long but I like there road manners and noise level, they seem to work as well as any of the previuosly mentioned MT tires, I chose them this time because I wanted a 36-37 that was 13.50-14.50 wide and still have good road manners and lower noise (I thought long and hard about some Irok's). It didn't hurt that I found them for under $200 a tire at the time.

                    Gearing

If it will not see a lot of high-way Miles I say 4.56 or 4.88 I have 37x14.50x15 toyos ( Jap as said )with 5.13 gears 2800 RPM at 55. That way I drive slower or it is a white knuckle ride after that. Till I work out some steering bugs. But will do that If I go hi pinon or Hi9" front

I'm an odd ball, but I still run 3.50's with my 36" Iroks. In town I just start out in first on my NP435, and my Windsor has a bunch of torque at idle for the trail in low range. Oh yeah, 65 mph at 2200 RPM.
