When I work, I stay at work for my whole work week. They provide a bunk house and food much like a fire house does. Having the internet is one thing that helps me stay connected while I'm away from home. Today I find out that because some A Hole that I work with keeps crashing the computer system here at work with virus's downloaded from porn sites, my facility is going to lose it's internet access.

To bad someone can't go back and find who has been to the sites that are issues and nail him for it. You guys must have an IT guy right?

see If they will put in wireles then you pony up for a lap-top its only yours to use. Bad Apple will only crash his lap-top ( I think )

Or If they will keep the Internet and user chip in for a wire less router. then you use your lap-top

yep... if there's cell reception verizon has a sweet card. cingular is working on a fast one.. not sure if it's done yet. The one they were going to hook me up w/ was like dial up so I didn't do it.

Tony, that really sucks... Do they have any idea who did it?
Once upon a time (ok, a few years ago) I was an "IT Guy" and I had to report a guy (who was promptly fired) for that very thing. I had no choice but to report the guy; I would have been risking my job knowing about this perv's collection of porn and not reporting him. Freaking dumbass had his screensaver set to cycle through all picture files on his system... he wasn't even trying to hide his "stash".

There are ways to keep internet access for all and track who is looking at what... It all comes down to how much its worth to your employer.

Apparently it costs money to make the internet password protected making it easy to see who's crashing the computers with thier questionable downloads. This is money they don't want to spend seeing as they just spent millions on a payroll system that doesn't work. It doesn't look good.
I might have to do the 3 am calls to carl to get the forum updates untill I get home.
