From what I have gathered over the years:
Shorties are for HP and Long tubes are for torque.
In the Bronco Long tubes will interfere with some transmissions, FW axles and Engines. I would say 90% of us running headers have shorties. To add to what 71Bronco71 said. If you have James Duff Long Arms and want to use long tube headers you will have to buy his......I found out the hard way. alnog with his long tubes would not work with my 60 swap.Originally posted by TBS-POPSComment

When I went with my long arms I had to get rid of my long tube headers. I miss the HP. It was noticable loss when I went to the shorties. I also used to drag the flanges, and screw up the gaskets.Marc D.

I switched to shorties.
