    I don't believe it has anything to do with the column staying in place. The outter bracket does a pretty good job of that. The flaming river seal and ring was VERY similar to this and can be purchased from summit.

    However, and I'm pissed I didn't take a picture of this, if you have a 3 bolt header flange, and I happen to have 2 sitting on my workbench, the are nearly indentical in size. They were cheap ones from Kragen from another project but wow they were so close. So in a pinch you could hit the exhaust isle at the local parts shop and snag one of those and it would do the job just fine.

      GLO is right - the part has nothing to do with keeping the column in place, but it does do a good job of holding that seal in place. I never even thought about exhaust flanges for that - they would work like a champ.

      If I ever find mine, I'll put it up for grabs!
