When installing a pto on my Dana 20 do I need to use a gasket to get proper gear mesh, or can I just use rtv?

You need to have some backlash. I'm not sure what the exact spec is but on big trucks they commonly use shims to get the correct backlash. Of course there's a redneck way to do almost anything but considering that if you have no backlash it could result in your transfer case burning up gears and eating itself.... Pretty sure the gear gut connections that deep down are all the same. Don't think it matters.Leave No One Behind

I thought the PTO,s went on the trans, not the t-case.72 sport/exp.,TBI 302,NP435,4.56 Powrlok/ARB in Full Width's.5.5" CAGE lift w/arms,2'' bl,37's, rescued from the concrete jungle (L.A.) Stock EB 3 spd doesn't have a PTO port. Some of our favorite swaps do though (NP435, ZF, NV4500)!sigpicRoad trips on an island get boring after the 1st lap...

The PTO for the bronco goes on the Dana 20 in place of the inspection plate.Marc D.
