Are the outer axle shafts interchangeable on EB and FW 44's?

Just a stock 1966 U13, 170 ci 6 cyl, no kiddin'.

Outer yes.

Inners yes/no. The short side on an EB and FW are the same. the long side inner is not.

Didn't the EB D44's use smaller u-joints? 5-260s instead of 5-297s?

Nope but if you have the fw inner...you can get it shortened 6" and resplined.
