  • Drum brake hubs work with disc convert??

    I read this some where but want confirmation. Do dat be tru?
    Just a stock 1966 U13, 170 ci 6 cyl, no kiddin'.

    I read a few diy that it works but have not tried it my self.

      You mean the actual bearing/wheel splined hubs themselves, or the lockouts?
      The lockouts/locking hubs are all the same as far as the years are concerned. The splined hubs however are supposed to be different. Stud holes and outer diameter I think. Not to mention possible offset differences as well.
      I've heard tell of some making them work, but have never seen it done. Never measured them either, as I've never removed a drum from a hub.

        If I remember right you need to put a 1/4" thick washer on the spindle as to shim out the hub. Then it is like any other Chevy brake set up and can't use the snap ring on end of axle.
