  • Crate engine for 77 bronco?

I am doing a engine swap on a 77 Bronco. Pulling out a tired 302 and looking to put in a turn key 302 or 347 stroker. I am getting some family help on this and only have a short time of free help that is the reason for going for a already built motor and not doing a rebuild.
I have 2 questions… any recommendations on a reputable builder on the internet and what do I need to know or look out for on picking a engine to do a smooth as possible change out.
Its a 77', stock 302/2bbl headers, C4 trans, dana 44… I want a daily driver/smooth idle and will keep this till I die. I really appreciate any suggestions and help. Thanks

Not a 302/347 but no stroke with more cubic inches and will fit

Do you still live in a SMOG check area?
I'd bet that 98% of strokers fail smog out of the tail pipe.

          Good Point.
It might be better to find a 5.0 roller motor and have that rebuilt. The roller motor can be adapted to use the 77 smog equipment...

Thanks for the help… checking out ATK engines. Yes I will need smog but screw it.

That would certainly be the most painless in my mind. Rebuilt roller short block and just bolt up all your '77 accessories, intake and 2 bbl carb. Those old 2 barrels run great and can be rebuilt by a novice in about 30 min with a $14 rebuild kit.
