Fuel Tank vent question

I just installed my 23 Gallon Sherman tank with this gas cap.

It says the cap is vented. Does this mean I can cap off the vent on the tank? If not how should I run the vent hose and should I leave it open or install some kind of valve in the end of it? Thanks.

Yes, if the cap is vented you can cap off the vent line.
