So the FW front - 77 F150 - is going back together. Now that everything else is all cleaned up, the old axles look pretty crappy. Joints don't feel sloppy but certainly not smooth.
Cheapest option from WH is the cromo with 760 joint . not much of an upgrade as far as the joint; can't go all the way to RCV due to $$.
Actually, how would you go about evaluating the health of a stock set of front axles? The stock joints don't appear to be servicable.
Will be running 5.13 R&P, NP435 and 37 inch tires, so there will be a lot of torque, but I'm not a wheel spinner either.
Want to get this right while it is all apart. Thoughts?
