  • PS pump fun - WH bracket and finding the right pump reservoir

Been going nuts trying to find a pump that is clocked correctly to avoid cutting up the WH PS pump bracket. As you may or may not know, the reservoir has to be clocked to the drivers side to work. I have two Saginaw "canned ham" pumps that were 5/16-18 on the pressure side that don't fit, and one remote reservoir pump that fit the bracket but the inlet was metric bubble something.

Started to swap reservoirs , then realized that one of the first steps is removing the pressure side fitting. Low and behold, they seem to match. So instead of changing reservoirs, I just changed the fitting.

So far it looks like Saginaw/Delphi changed to metric around 1980. Thought this trick might come in handy if you find the right pump but the inlet is the wrong style - hope it works.
