I had picked up a Chevy blower motor a while ago, and decided to build my extra heater box today. I test ran it and found the motor is running backwards. I have to put the positive to the case to get it to spin the right way. Anyone seen this before?

Re: Chevy blower motor
Never heard of that myself. You sure it's going backwards and not just that the squirrel cage/fan cage is not just incorrect for that motor? Did it come with it, or did you install your old one on the new motor?

If you drive with rage, drive a cage.

Re: Chevy blower motor
I suppose it could be the wrong motor, but I've never seen any that spun opposite of normal either. I wonder what's going on in there?
And just how do these things know to spin in one direction or the other anyway? I know that's basic electric motor stuff, but I don't know the theory anymore.
