  • Steering box hose connections

I’m going to have hoses made from the explorer power steering pump the the steering box. Which hose connection is return and which is high pressure? I marked the connections with a 1 and a 2.
    Thanks

Larger port on left is pressure side... Usually.

Thanks Doug. That was my uneducated guess, but wanted an educated opinion. This steering box did not come with the bronco and had some weird non bronco box with no hoses connected to compare.
      Thanks,
      Karl

And for future reference, not all high-pressure sides are the larger. Some boxes use a smaller port. But one thing that is consistent in all boxes I've seen is that the pressure port is the farthest from the rear/seal/input shaft, and the return is closer to the front/seal/shaft area.
