  • C4 ?????????

Later this month I am picking up a 76 Bronco and putting my axles and lift under it along with my 5.0 . The 76 has a rebuilt c4 with approx. 20k on it. My axle gears are 4.88 and I have 38*12.5's. Am i going to hate this set up, are 4.88 enough? Also should i put a different torque converter in it while it is apart? My 302 has around 5k on a mild cam... anyone with similar specks? I'd appreciate any info. Thanks

I run 37's with a c4 and 4.88 gears. I wouldn't want to go any lower unless I had overdrive or never drove down the highway. I now have a doubler but had no problems with just the d20 when crawling. I would keep the stock converter.

4.88's are good with 38's. 5.13 IMO work better, buts it not worth the 500$ to swap over.

That's good to know. This bronco won't ever see the more than 60 mph. I just didn't want it to be a slug while up in the hills or in the snow.
