      thats how i do it too. there is a torque in the instructions but if you see the gasket squishing out stop,otherwise the diaphram will tear.

        I personally hate rebuilding carbs, but they are easy.
        I just did an old AFB on a GTO at my house, the worst part is the cleaning.
        If you don't have a 5 gallon can of carb clean, a bucket of Diesel is almost as good.
        Just put the carb it in for about a week . Then tear it open and rebuilt it all.

          The rebuild went remarkably well, now I need to replace the rubber lines. I have the funky retun line thats hooked to the main, can I ditch it and just fab up a single? It's only hooked into the front tank and it seems to build pressure in the tank, even with a "vented" cap.
          73' balanced .060 302, NP435, 1"BL, 2 1/2 "pops" susp lift and more to come!!
