  • Can I use your bender...I need to do 6 bends

Hey all. I am adding a rear hoop to my existing cage to make the "Family" style cage. I need to borrow a bender and was hoping someone might let me use theirs. I just don't have the money to buy a full bender with dies. I looked at the Harbor Freight pipe benders, but would rather use a JD2 or equivelant. I have used a JD2 several times, but the one I used is in Idaho now. I'm bending 1.75 diam. .120 wall HREW. I need to make 6 total bends and it should not take me more than an hour or two. I'll make a beer donation too...

    HELP???
Don't worry about it...its mostly glass...will be fine...

I'll have my buddies JD2 set up in my shop in a few months, and you are welcome to come over and use it then. I know it's a little ways away, so maybe someone else has one that's available sooner. I'll have to see if he has a 1.75 die. I know he has a 2 and a few others.

I also need some help converting and strengthening my cage to a family style as well. Baby on the way, and I want the Bronco to be a little safer for the little tot.

Maybe we can all find the time to set up a weekend of bending and fabbing. Lots of hands to get the job done quicker, with plenty of BRonco knowledge on hand.

Well, i finally got it bent up and installed. Used HREW and a Jd2. The soft top is fully funtional, it clears the garage door, and has enough headroom for a 6"2" adult...more if you lean the set back a bit. I need to gusset a bit and plan on adding a couple handles/grab bars. There is a lap belt for the rear, but I'd like to mount a pilar/modern car type belt. Trying to figure out how to gusset and create a mount for it. Anyway... Here are some pics

Link to the Single Rear Seat/Shelf set up. The Cooler sits next to the seat long ways. Spare parts are under the cooler and I can hold food boxes long ways now!

Thanks and thanks.... Are you talking about the rollbar or seat/self? Curious what people think of the seat/shelf set up....

Nice work, I like the seat/shelf set up. It makes a great storage area for stuff that's long. The rollbar came out nice as well. (I couldn't get the seat/shelf link to work, I did just cut and paste it though).
