  • air tank questions

I'm trying to finish up my sliders and have seen a few of you talking about making air tanks. How are you doing this. What parts are involved? How do you fill them? I know, rookie questions but I had to ask.

Close up pics would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

I have been considering drilling/tapping my bumper with 3/8" pipe threads, then just using hardware store air fittings and line. Seems like it should work.

Do you have on board air currently?

Not yet but assume I will since I will be running ARB's (I hope).

We welded in 1/4npt bungs into the sliders so they could be used as air tanks. be aware that MIG welding IS porus and does not always hold air psi.. The end caps were tacked on with the mig, then albert stick welded the rest on with a special rod ??? that is air tight...then just plumb them into the air sys. for storage...
